Our 2026 tomato seedlings will be available June 6 at both the Summerside Farmers’ Market and our farm gate. As always, we have a great selection of heirlooms adapted to our growing conditions on the Island, plus a few new varieties we’re trying this year. All varieties are open-pollinated and chemical-free.
In addition to our many tomato varieties, we also have seedlings for a selection of Herbs, Sweet Peppers and Hot Peppers.

Awesome
This 6-8 oz. beauty is yellow with a red blush. Inside is a kaleidoscope of colour: orange, yellow, pink, and red with green seed pockets. Excellent, exciting, sweet flavour with a 'zing'.

Baker Creek Yellow Pear
Big pears, cold-hardy with no cracking. Tall robust plans that keep bearing until frost. Superior!

Be My Baby
This productive cherry is the ongoing result of a cross between 3 famous tomatoes: an heirloom potato leaf beefsteak and 2 cherries—one orange and one red. The crossing and selection process began in 1997, and is now complete in 2020.

Black Cherry
So sweet and early! Deep burgundy 1” round fruits that grow in prolific clusters.

Black Krim
"Black Crimson" has large beefsteaks that are ripe when shoulders turn deep
crimson an belly is still greenish red. Wonderful rich flavour.

Blondkopfchen
“Little Blond Girl”, originally obtained from the Gastersleben Gene Bank in Germany by Seed Savers Exchange. The small yellow cherries are produced in huge clusters of 20-30 extremely sweet, tasty, tiny (2cm) yellow tomatoes. Great for snacking and dehydrating.

Blue Beech
Stew, sauce and can them; slice, roast and freeze them; toss and eat them. Sweet, dry flesh, few seeds. A true beauty: dry dense flesh, yet sweet enough to savour raw.

Blush
Stunning and so sweet! 2” elongated golden-pink streaked tomato with crack resistance.Ripen on or off the vine without compromising flavour. A crowd pleaser for snacking or fancy dishes.

Buckflat’s Wonder 🇨🇦
Bred by Andy Pollock in northern BC. Hardy, blemish-free, red 8-10 oz. perfectly round salad tomato with great flavour. Very productive and selected for years for the fruit not to be damaged in light autumn frosts. Great for short season areas. Good blight resistance.

Cosmonaut Volkov
Old Ukrainian variety renamed in honour of Russian cosmonaut who died on re-entry in 1971. Sturdy, productive, cool-weather tolerant and wins every taste test! Med - large, 10 oz. deep red, smooth globes on a 4' vine. Diverse in shape and size (flat, round, square). Even in cold summers, it produces early by mid-August and continues until frost. Excellent for sauce or fresh.

Cour di Bue (Oxheart) Albenga 🆕
What a charmer! Big, fat, dark and delicious fruit weighing almost a pound. Hailing from the town of Albenga in northern Italy, the pleated teardrop-shaped fruits resemble an oxheart and hence the name. Wonderful fresh flavour and even better roasted. Enjoy in salads, sandwiches and sauces. Sturdy, vigorous and productive plants.

Doucet's Petit Bec 🇨🇦
Prolific large cherry or saladette tomato. Withstands cool adverse weather. Extremely prolific with great taste. Non-uniform in size. A real workhorse! Roger Doucet developed tomatoes at Station Provinciale de Recherches Agricole in St. Hyacinthe, QC, around 1975. Doucet varieties tolerate cold nights in spring. Wide genetic base.

Eden Star
Uniform, round, medium-sized tasty tomato. Seedy Saturday surprise as meant to be ‘Green Star’.

Galina
Siberian heirloom produces golden yellow cherries in long clusters, producing until frost. Flavour is sweet and delicious. Good keeper.

Garden Peach
Productive 3-5 oz. yellow heirloom. Fruits blush pink when ripe and have
thin fuzzy skins somewhat like peaches, soft-skinned, juicy and sweet with a mild fruity flavour. Rich in
iron and B5. Extremely cold resistant, always the last fruit that continues to ripen in the GH in December! Excellent keeper.

Gartenperle
Prostrate delicious little prolific cherry that produces early to frost. Good in container.

Goluboy Les
“Blue Forest” Russian indigo coloured outside to an exotic red inside. Stunning small 1-2 oz. spherical fruits with stunning deep purple colour when exposed to bright sunlight, burnt orange inside. Sweet flavour is excellent: rich, juicy and delicious with a salty finish. Very productive. Cold hardy and withstands adverse conditions.

Grightmire’s Pride
Large, early, pinkish-red fruit from Yugoslavia. Meaty, low seed, low acid fruit with good taste. Give this prolific beauty a try.

Harbinger
Old English variety, introduced in 1910. Extremely productive thin-skinned plants loaded with small to medium globe shaped red tomatoes with terrific taste. Tolerates cool weather.

House
A rare and special variety. Small but prolific plants reach around 24", they grow best in pots near warm and sunny windows. Small slicer, with tasty bright red fruit. They really do produce well entirely indoors! That's how our seed was grown. When grown outdoors, they'll usually grow larger and more abundant, so some people grow them outdoors in pots and just take them in for the winter, cutting them back for new growth in the spring. The plants can grow for years this way! An heirloom variety, originally from Russia, and brought to Canada in the 1890s.

Legend
Early, large, uniform glossy red parthenocarpic slicer 4-5" with great sweet flavour. Strong tolerance against late blight.

Mandurang Moon
Small, tasty, gorgeously pale-colored prolific fruit on strong plants with disease resistance. ‘Mandurang’ is a town in Australia and means “Black Cicada” in the indigenous language of the area.

Marzano Fire
Plants are vigorous and productive. Red paste tomato with yellow stripes and deep red flesh, exceptional for roasting, saucing and drying.

Mountain Merit
Dehybridized by Seeds of Diversity, this excellent 8-10 oz., deep red, tasty tomato is a compact plant and does well in containers. It thrives in hot, humid climates, is crack resistant, and highly disease resistant, including blight.

Palestinian
AKA “Banadura Baladiyya”. This large, blocky fruit is extremely heavy and meaty. Between a big beefsteak and a paste tomato, it is equally good for slicing, canning and sauce. Great taste. Wonderful!

Paul Robeson
The #1 best taste test winner. This dusky brick-red fruit averages 8-10 oz. and is a great sandwich tomato. This Russian heirloom produces well in colder climates.

Peacevine
This is a rampant grower and producer of clusters of 1" fruits which are
sweet-tart rich flavour. It has a currant tomato in its ancestry. Very high in vitamin C and GABA, a
sedating antioxidant. Excellent!

Pink Boar
Wine-coloured fruits with metallic green striping on vigorous vines. Strong plants loaded with rich, sweet, juicy fruits for slicing in salads. Adverse weather tolerance.

Polish Linguisa 🆕
Paste tomatoes rarely score high in the taste department but this heirloom is an exception! It has a good balance of juice to flesh and can be used for sauce or eaten fresh. The flavour is rich and sweet, and makes great sauce. Bright red fruit are long and narrow with a pronounced tip at the end.

Purple Calabash
A 16th C heirloom. Deeply fluted fruit, light pinkish-brown when ripe, with
green gell around seeds. Rich taste is wine-like and makes them well worth growing. Drought tolerant.

Quebec 5 🇨🇦
Smooth, firm red fruit 3-4" with fresh, vibrant flavour. Always dependable for abundant yields.

Radiator Charlie’s Mortgage Lifter
Flattened/round large, meaty, deep red vigorous beefsteak. Great flavour and good slicer with few seeds. Plants are highly productive and disease resistant. The
original cultivar made famous in the ’30s.

Roma
Probably the best known Italian paste tomato. 2-3" plum shape with thick
flesh and few seeds. Vigorous, hardy, compact determinate vines. Firm, meaty, pear-shaped fruit, up to 200 per plant, thus prolific and durable. Wilt resistant. Good for sauces, pastes and canning.

Ropreco
A fine old Italian heirloom with good taste. Fruits 2-3 oz. oblong and bright
red. Good disease resistance. Does not require staking as it produces fruit in a concentrated set. Suitable for sauce and drying.

Rosabec 🇨🇦
Developed by Roger Doucet at the Research Station, St.
Hyacinthe, QC. Developed from a cross of Canabec and a pink breeding line. It was the first determinate Quebec variety with pink fruit. A mid-sized table tomato which is blemish free and mild
tasting.

Rose de Berne
Swiss heirloom often called the “Brandywine of Europe”. Only medium-sized yet delivers the robust flavour of the bigger types. Good producer of dark rose-coloured, perfect globe- shaped fruit, smooth, round with no blemishes. Thin-skinned, juicy with a zingy, sweet, rich flavour. Heavy yield on heavily foliaged plants. Endangered.

San Marzano
Mid season. Popular paste tomato with good crack resistance and great
productivity. Medium vines. Great for sauces, canning and drying/dehydrate.

Stefan's Gold
In 1957, after emigrating to Canada, Polish WWII RAF Bomber Stefan Seczek was given these seeds from a Polish co-worker at Otis Elevators in Hamilton, ON. He grew them every year until he passed away in 2012. Vivid golden to orange colour
with meaty texture and sweet taste. Medium size, performing well in cool, wet conditions, good DR.

Striped Cavern
Beautiful 8 oz thick-walled, partially hollow, stuffing tomato is red with yellow stripes. Good keeper and drought tolerant. Farm favourite!

Sunrise Bumblebee
Crack-resistant, round yellow gold-streaked cherries with red
stripes and pink interior marbling. Excellent sweet and tangy flavour.

Sweet Tumbler
Extremely early sweet red cherry with compact horizontally graceful cascading habit. Best for hanging baskets or patio tubs. Grow 6-8" tall, vines up to 2'. Very productive, extra early. Loaded with fruit for such a small plant.

Tasmanian Chocolate 🆕
Loads of delicious, large, dark mahogany-red beefsteak type tomatoes on sturdy compact plants. Enjoy the satisfying, rich flavour with a perfect sweet/tart balance on summertime tomato sandwiches. Well suited for patios and containers owing to its tidy plant habit and short sturdy stature, but needs support from a tomato cage or stakes.

Tomadose des Comores
This rare and endangered French heirloom has very dark red sweet fruit with an orange tinge inside with a long, strong, lingering flavour. Very productive large plants. Extremely rare.

Violet Jasper
Originally from China where it is called Tze Bi U. Beautiful and extremely productive, pumping out bushels until frost. Salad-sized, bright purple-red fruits are the size
of a lime with iridescent green stripes and dark purple-red meaty flesh, rich and tangy-sweet. Skin may be a little firm if picked too soon, but that makes them great for grilling or the BBQ. Very prolific and holds
well.
